The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a new way of supporting people with a disability. It provides funding packages to people with disability, based on their individual needs and goals. It also supports people to develop their skills and confidence so they can be active members of their community and have more choice and control over the supports they receive.

If you are under 65 and an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with a permanent and significant disability – you may be eligible for NDIS supports and services.
What about people living with a mental illness?
Some people living with a mental illness experience psychosocial disability. A person with a psychosocial disability experiences impairments and participation restrictions related to a mental health condition. These can include a loss of ability to function, think clearly, experience full physical health, and manage the social and emotional aspects of their lives.
For people already in ISPIR, or on our waiting list:
All current participants of ISPIR will be supported to apply for access to the NDIS before the program closes on 30 June 2019. ISPIR participants deemed not to have met the access criteria for NDIS will be eligible for support from ISPIR until 30 June 2019, and the continuity of supports arrangements from 1 July 2019.
