Illawarra Shoalhaven Partners in Recovery (ISPIR) in conjunction with a number of partner organisations is running some unique programs over the next few months to improve the lives of people with a mental illness living in the region.
‘Building your Recovery’ is the first workshop that forms part of a series called: ‘Keys for Recovery.’
ISPIR Team Leader Jenny Valdivia says this workshop will help individuals identify what their needs are and equip them with the skills to find the right supports for themselves to achieve their unique goals:
“We have identified a need to help individuals become ‘self-advocates’ – our team will be delivering a program we have designed to address this for 4 weeks starting next Wednesday February 22,” said Jenny.
“We invite anyone with a lived experience of mental illness to join us- particularly if they feel they could benefit from extra support,” added Jenny.
‘Building Your Recovery’ will run every Wednesday from February 22 until March 15, 2017, 10am until 12:30pm.
It will be held in the Grand Pacific Health Meeting room, Suite 1 Ground Floor, 336 Kiera Street Wollongong.
There is no cost to participate but registrations are essential.
